Noah's Ark on År(K)eskutan

In early 2023, we will collaborate with snow artists to place a model of Noah’s ark on Åreskutan, the central mountain in Sweden’s most famous skiing resort.

For Rudbeck, the prominent peak must have been among the first mountains re-emerging from the deluge as described in the book of Genesis – an aspect of Swedish nature which thus made Jämtland the place from where Europe was resettled.

For visitors to the resort, the curious sculpture will serve as point of entry to our online presences. Filmed by a live webcam, we will produce a timelapse video how the sculpture eventually disappears as the skiing season gets shorter each year and sea levels continue to rise.

Perfect example of an artifact, which gave scientists a hint to the Sami culture of scandinavia. This could've been destroyed by the wood-industry without even noticing it.

Requiem for a Glacier

In summer 2023, we will bring together artists, scientists and officials and return to Helags Glacier, the peak that Rudbeck made the throne of the Muses.

We will stage artistic performances on site, inspired by the ceremony Andri Magnason conducted with the Icelandic parliament on Okjökull to acknowledge and mourn the death of this glacier.

Orchestrated with media representatives, such a performance is destined to increase awareness to the ongoing losses around us.
